Press Hook integrates with Shopify to let you import your product catalog directly into your brand profile. If your Shopify products are not importing or syncing correctly, here are the most common causes and solutions.
Verify Your Shopify App ID
Press Hook needs your correct Shopify Shop ID to connect to your store. If the wrong ID was entered or it was not entered at all, the import will not work.
To find your Shopify Shop ID:
Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.
Look at your browser's URL bar β it will show something like "your-store-name.myshopify.com."
Your Shop ID is the "your-store-name" part of that URL.
See "How to Find Your Shopify App ID" for a detailed walkthrough with more methods to locate your ID.
Check That the Integration Is Connected
Make sure the Press Hook app is properly installed and connected in your Shopify store:
Log in to your Shopify admin.
Go to Apps and find Press Hook in your installed apps list.
Open the Press Hook app and verify that it shows as "Connected."
If Press Hook does not appear in your apps list, you may need to reinstall the integration. Visit the Shopify App Store, search for Press Hook, and install it.
Products Are in Shopify but Not Appearing on Press Hook
If the integration is connected but products are not showing up on your Press Hook profile, check the following:
Products must be published and active in Shopify. Draft products, archived products, and products not available on your online sales channel will not import.
Wait a few minutes for sync. After connecting or making changes, it can take several minutes for products to sync between Shopify and Press Hook. Try refreshing your Press Hook profile after waiting 5-10 minutes.
Check your product count. If you have a large number of products, the initial import may take longer. Be patient and check back after 15-30 minutes.
Product Details Are Missing or Incorrect
If products imported but are missing images, descriptions, or pricing:
Images: Make sure your Shopify products have images uploaded. Press Hook imports the product images stored in Shopify.
Descriptions: Product descriptions come from the description field in Shopify. If a product has no description in Shopify, it will appear without one on Press Hook.
Pricing: Check that the pricing is set correctly in Shopify. Press Hook uses the published price from your Shopify store.
You can also manually edit any imported product on Press Hook after import if you want to customize how it appears to media professionals.
I'm Getting an Error When Trying to Import
If you see an error message during the import process:
"Shop not found" or "Invalid Shop ID" β Double-check that you entered the correct Shopify Shop ID.
"Permission denied" β The Press Hook app may not have the necessary permissions in Shopify. Reinstall the app and make sure to approve all requested permissions.
"Connection timeout" β Your internet connection may have been interrupted. Try again in a few minutes.
