High-quality product images are essential for making a strong impression on media professionals who visit your Press Hook profile. This article covers the technical requirements and best practices for uploading product images.
Image Requirements
To ensure your product images display correctly on Press Hook, follow these specifications:
File format: JPEG (.jpg) or PNG (.png)
Minimum resolution: 800 x 800 pixels. Higher resolution images (1200 x 1200 or larger) are recommended for the best display quality.
Maximum file size: 10 MB per image
Aspect ratio: Square images (1:1 ratio) display best in product listings. Landscape and portrait images are also accepted but may be cropped in certain views.
How to Upload Product Images
Log in to your Press Hook account.
Navigate to your brand editor by clicking on your brand profile.
Select the "Products" section from the vertical toolbar on the left.
Click on the product you want to add images to (or create a new product).
Click the image upload area and select your image file, or drag and drop the image into the upload area.
Repeat to add multiple images per product. We recommend at least 3-5 images per product.
Best Practices for Product Images
Use a clean, neutral background. White or light gray backgrounds make your product the focus and look professional in search results.
Show the product from multiple angles. Include front, side, and detail shots so media professionals can understand the product without requesting additional photos.
Include lifestyle images. In addition to product-only shots, include 1-2 images showing the product in use or in context. This gives journalists ready-to-use visual content for their stories.
Use high resolution. Media professionals may need to use your images in print or high-resolution digital formats. Starting with high-quality originals ensures they can use your images without asking for replacements.
Avoid text overlays and watermarks. Journalists prefer clean images they can use directly. Logos, promotional text, and watermarks make images less usable for editorial content.
My Images Are Not Uploading
If you are having trouble uploading images, check the following:
File size: Make sure the image is under 10 MB.
File format: Confirm the file is JPEG or PNG. Other formats (TIFF, BMP, HEIC, WebP) are not currently supported.
Browser: Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. Chrome and Safari tend to work best.
Internet connection: Large images require a stable internet connection to upload. If uploads are timing out, try a faster connection.
If the issue persists after checking these, contact our support team with a description of the problem and the browser you are using.
