Press Hook verifies all media accounts to ensure brands are connecting with legitimate journalists, editors, bloggers, and content creators. Verification typically takes 1-3 business days after you complete the media approval survey.
How the Verification Process Works
Create a new Press Hook account at presshook.com and select the "Media" account type.
Complete the media approval survey. This asks for your name, outlet, role, and links to published work.
Our team reviews your application. We verify your identity and publishing history.
You will receive an email when your account is approved and activated.
Once verified, you have full access to search brands, generate source requests, request product samples, and connect with brand teams.
What We Look For During Verification
Our team checks for the following:
Active publishing history. We look for recent published work under your name or byline.
Legitimate outlet. Your outlet should have an active website with published content.
Professional role. You should currently be working as a journalist, editor, blogger, podcaster, or content creator who regularly publishes content.
Note: Freelancers are welcome on Press Hook. You do not need to be employed full-time by a publication. As long as you have recent published work, you are eligible.
My Verification Is Taking Longer Than Expected
If it has been more than 3 business days since you submitted the media approval survey, try these steps:
Check your email (including spam) for any follow-up questions from our team.
Make sure your survey was fully submitted. If you started but did not complete it, your application may not have been received.
If you still have not heard back, contact our support team with your name, email address, and the outlet you work for, and we will check the status of your application.
I Was Previously Verified but Can't Access My Account
If you had a Press Hook account in the past but can no longer log in, it may be linked to an old email address. Contact our support team with both the old and new email addresses, and we can help you regain access or transfer your verification to a new account.
I Have an Account Under a Different Email
If you previously had a Press Hook account under a different email address (for example, from a previous employer), let our support team know. We can help you transfer your history or link your new account.
