Press hits show media professionals that your brand has been featured in publications before. Adding press hits to your Press Hook profile builds credibility and makes journalists more likely to cover your brand.
What Is a Press Hit?
A press hit is any media mention or feature your brand has received. This includes articles in online publications, print magazines, TV segments, podcast features, blog posts, gift guide inclusions, and product reviews. If a media outlet mentioned your brand, that counts as a press hit.
How to Add a Press Hit
Log in to your Press Hook account.
Navigate to your brand editor by clicking on your brand profile.
Select the "Press Hits" section from the vertical toolbar on the left.
Click the "Add Press Hit" button (or the plus button in the empty area).
Enter the following details: - Publication name: The name of the outlet that featured your brand (e.g., "Vogue," "BuzzFeed," "The Today Show"). - Article title: The title of the specific piece that mentioned your brand. - URL: A link to the article or segment, if available online. - Date: The date the piece was published or aired.
Click "Save" to add the press hit to your profile.
Tips for Showcasing Press Hits
Include your most impressive coverage first. Major outlets and well-known publications should appear near the top. This makes a strong first impression when media professionals visit your profile.
Keep press hits up to date. Add new coverage as it happens. An active press hits section signals to journalists that your brand is currently generating media interest.
Include a variety of outlets. Showing coverage across different types of media (print, digital, broadcast, podcasts) demonstrates broad appeal and media savvy.
Don't overlook niche coverage. A feature in a highly relevant industry publication can be just as valuable as a mention in a major outlet, especially if the journalist visiting your profile covers the same niche.
I Can't Find the URL for My Press Hit
If the coverage was in a print publication, on a podcast, or on TV and there is no online link, you can still add the press hit. Enter the publication name, article or segment title, and date. Leave the URL field blank or enter "Print publication" or "Broadcast segment" as a note.
