Press Hook uses two user permission levels to control what team members can do on your account: Standard and Admin. This article explains what each role includes so you can assign the right permissions to your team.
Standard User
A Standard user has access to the day-to-day features needed to manage brand profiles and interact with media. Standard users can:
Edit the brand profiles they are assigned to
Add and update products, services, images, and press releases
View and respond to media inquiries and source requests
Approve or decline sample requests
Send pitches and messages to media professionals
View the brand dashboard and analytics
Standard users cannot:
Add new brands to the account
Invite or remove other users
Access or change billing and subscription settings
View or manage brands they are not assigned to
Admin User
An Admin user has full access to everything a Standard user can do, plus account-level management. Admin users can:
Add new brands or expert profiles to the account
Invite new team members and set their permission levels
Remove existing users from the account
Access and manage billing, subscription, and payment settings
View and manage all brands on the account
Which Role Should I Assign?
Use Standard for team members who need to manage specific brand profiles but do not need to add brands, manage users, or handle billing. This is the right choice for most day-to-day users.
Use Admin for account owners, agency leads, or senior team members who need to manage the account itself β including adding brands, inviting users, and overseeing billing.
Note: You can change a user's permission level at any time from the User Management page. Go to Manage Users, find the user, and update their role.
I Need a Permission Level That Doesn't Exist
Press Hook currently supports Standard and Admin roles. If your team needs more granular permissions (for example, a user who can manage billing but not add brands), contact our support team and let us know what you need. We use this feedback to improve the platform.
