Source Requests are a great way to indirectly promote your brand. If you’ve been in your industry for 5+ years, you’re more than likely an expert in that field! Your expertise can be super beneficial to media when they’re writing their pieces and can discreetly promote your brand within an article. You can also match yourself up to source requests with your products or your overall brand.

We've seen thousands of pitches for source requests. Here's a few of our best tips plus an easy to use template for responding to requests:

Step 1: Locate where the Source Requests are posted on Press Hook.

Step 2: Read through Source Requests to find and select a one that fits your brand, product and/or expert best and make sure your pitch follows the guidelines the journalist is requesting in their inquiry.

Step 3: Once all that information is written out, submit the pitch! (Tip: If your brand or product has great ratings on Amazon, include those raving reviews too!)

Information to include in your Source Request Pitch:

  • Name of Product / Brand

  • Link to Brand Website and Product Listing on Website

  • Description of Product/Brand, Price of Product & Why It’s a Fit for The Story

  • Information On Availability (Brand Website, Online/Physical Retailers, etc.)

  • Information On Affiliates (This may include Amazon, Skimlinks, ShareASale, etc.)
